The IRO and the IPO
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m.
Discussion: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Location: One Financial Center, 675 Atlantic Ave, Atrium and Rooms A, B, C, Boston, MA
With 278 companies going public and generating more than $90 billion in proceeds, 2014 proved to be the best year for IPOs since 2000. Since Boston is a hotbed of innovation and high growth organizations, we are dedicating a meeting to discuss the roadmap to an IPO from an investor relations perspective. Join us for what is sure to be a lively and informative discussion as we hear from a prominent venture capitalist who has taken many companies public and a banker who will discuss what is expected of an IRO as a company initiates and moves through the IPO process.
Michael Skok, an individual investor and venture capitalist, will talk about what the board and executive team need to think about when considering an IPO and how an IRO can help prepare the company.
Bob Lockwood, Managing Director, Technology Investment Banking with Raymond James, will discuss the IPO process itself and the IRO’s role within the banking team’s activities.
Whether you are an IRO, a communications professional at a pre-IPO company, or finance executive establishing a role for an IRO, you are sure to walk away from this discussion with a better understanding of advantages of bringing an IRO on board early, the role the IRO plays as part of the IPO team.

IR Benchmarking: Measuring What Matters
Dinner and Program: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Embassy Suites, 550 Winter Street, Waltham, MA 02451
All good IROs understand the importance of marketing your IR plan continually to senior management to gain executive-level commitment and support. We also know that these executives are largely driven by data. This preference for proof challenges IROs to find the right metrics to prove the value of the IR program and the progress toward agreed-upon objectives.
Join NIRI Boston as we review highlights from the body of knowledge that has been compiled on the topic of IR benchmarking and explore what has worked and what hasn’t when it comes to determining how your IR program stacks up.
